[tennisbiz] Advice requested on the two-handed FOREHAND
Hello everyone,
Last weekend I gave a first lesson to a six-year-old. She struggled
with a one-handed forehand in terms of both strength and coordination,
although she is already coordinated enough to catch thrown tennis balls
about 90% of the time.
On her own, she decided to use two hands. To my happy surprise, she
started whacking balls solidly and consistently over the net from the
service line.
The problem was, I really knew little about the two-handed forehand.
1. I assumed that, since she's right-handed, her right hand should be at the
bottom. Is that correct?
2. Is the Eastern forehand grip OK for her bottom hand?
3. What grip should her top (or left) hand have?
4. What are the other important things to teach on the two-handed forehand?
