[tennisbiz] Re: Question about the TennisConnect service - is it any good?
I am the Director of a club in Durham, NC with 22 courts.
I have been using tennisconnect.org for about a year and before that the
lead up program.
I can say that the calendar has not only helped with business but it does a
couple of other things. By training my members to use the calendar to sign
up for events - both special and regular weekly activities we develop a much
more accurate email list which in turn is used for specific marketing. We
have a regular event each Tuesday and Sunday which is open to all members
and as they become trained to use the website participation increases and
the management of the event becomes easier due to knowing pretty much
exactly who is going to show up.
My club is a private club but we are able to take non members - I get
traffic from local hotels and non members who see us on the mytennis.com
program. I also promote the website with the concierges at the hotels.
The court scheduler is being used in quite a few clubs in North Carolina
that I know of with great success - moving from paper to computer we
instituted online reservations only prior to the day of play - enabling
those without computers to call in by phone as they have been and also to
eliminate possible overlaps with a paper and a computer system.
Many of the other web pages of clubs are not dynamic - what works for me
with this program is the ability to change it each day - my staff can change
it - and none of us are computer techies.
What I have found is that members go to a static web page once and then
generally go back to their old ways - with a dynamic site such as this there
is always new material we are posting which encourages members to visit -
which gives us better emails and so on.
I am happy to discuss this further with those that are interested.
Thank you for your forum
