[tennisbiz2] USTA League Questions
I am a Director of a club in North Carolina and would like to get some
feedback from other pros re the following:
In our USTA 5.0 leagues (men and women) - players are getting "disqualified"
and moved to a 5.5 rating.
They now have no league to play in and subsequently do one of two things -
don't play or deliberately lose in order to reduce their rating.
My proposal - make the 5.0 level an open level, if players can't hang at the
5.0 level then they are 4.5 players, if they can't hang at the 4.5 level,
then they are 4.0 and so on.
I have two questions; is this an issue for any other pros and if it is are
there any other solutions.
Thanks,
Jim McDonald
